HERF Field Trips Rules and Guidelines

The HERF Field Trip Team does a wonderful job organizing exciting field trips for HERF members. We need everyone cooperating together to make our group work. Organizing and planning a field trip takes time and we want to honor the organizer's work with our best efforts. Following these rules will help our field trips work well for our group.

 

1. Please sign up and pay before the deadline.

It's important for us to let the business know how many people are coming. They are giving us group rates based on our numbers. Businesses need to plan ahead, have appropriate staff and facilities ready for us, and the fees are often required to be paid ahead, so please be sure to promptly send in your fees. You will not be included in a final headcount if you have not paid by the deadline.

 

2. Please make sure you do not cancel unless there is an emergency.

Businesses, in most cases, have brought on extra staff to accommodate us. Some field trips have been canceled because of people dropping out last minute. It's not fair to the business and also gives us a bad reputation in the community. If you absolutely must cancel, please let the contact person know as soon as possible. Refunds may not be possible for cancellations (details are listed in each field trip). If you cancel last minute or no-show on multiple field trips, your family may be limited in field trip opportunities for the remainder of the school year.

 

3. Please arrive early.

Allow for a few minutes before the field trip start time. Sometimes field trips cannot start until everyone has arrived.

 

4. Please do not forward HERF emails, posts from the private Facebook page, or post info about them on other websites or social groups.

Our events and activities are a benefit to our paid members. We work hard to bring our group fun field trips at low group rates and no cost events. If you have a friend who would like to JOIN HERF, please feel free to share our website.

 

5. *NON-MEMBERS FIELD TRIP AND EVENT PARTICIPATION GUIDELINES:

*HERF members are welcome to invite non-members to join us on our field trips and/or events as long as the following guidelines are followed.

a. There will be a maximum of 1 field trip and/or event that non-members will be able to participate in per year.

b. There will be a $5 non-members fee required per person attending a HERF field trip/event.

(Ex: If the event is free for HERF members, the non-member cost will be $5 per non-member. If there is a charge for HERF members, the non-member price will be the event cost PLUS the $5 non-member fee per non-member attending.)

c. If a non-member family should decide to join HERF after attending a field trip/event the additional cost they paid for that field trip/event will be deducted from the total cost of membership fee. This will need to be brought to the Leadership Team's attention prior to joining HERF.

d. Non-members will need to read and agree with the HERF Field Trip Rules to participate.
