HERF Team Positions
Team Job Descriptions
Each HERF family is asked to serve once or twice (more details below) on a Team for the school year. Descriptions are below to assist you in choosing the team that suits your family best. Please choose a team on which you or a family member would be willing to serve. HERF Team positions are not overly time consuming and are designed for the busy homeschool family. After processing the applications, you will be contacted by our HERF Jobs Coordinator and/or your Team Leader to discuss your placement. If you are unable to fulfill a team position, you must pay an additional fee of $75 to be a member without a job.
Please keep in mind that HERF is a completely volunteer organization including the Leadership Team. HERF serves the greater Roanoke Valley homeschool community by providing resources and opportunities to experience Christian fellowship through events and social activities as well as service and Christ-centered ministry to one another.

YEARBOOK
As a Yearbook Team Member, you will 1) help on picture days, 2) Gather pictures of HERF events, 3) Help organize portions of the yearbook. An interview is required to be placed on this team. *We are looking for a new Team Leader to be trained. Please reach out if you are interested. HERF provides additional benefits to Team Leaders.
FIELD TRIP TEAM
As a Field Trip Team member, you will plan & host two field trips of your choosing. This will include setting up the Facebook event (having access to a Facebook account is necessary for this team), collecting any money and/or release forms (having a PayPal or Venmo account would be helpful but not required), and communicating all details with our group members as well as the field trip site.

HERF welcomes all field trip ideas and we allow other team members to host field trips when they want to. [For example, Member A is on another team but wants the large group discounted rate at Field Trip Z. Member A hosts a field trip at Field Trip Z in order to get a discounted rate that benefits Member A's family AND other HERF Members.] If this is your situation, please reach out. We are always open to more field trips.
SOCIAL EVENTS TEAM
As a Social Events Team Member, you will assist in planning, coordinating, and executing two parties (Christmas and Valentine) a year. Jobs may include: set up, clean up, games, crafts, food management, etc. HERF will provide food and/or treats at multiple events throughout the year.

LARGE EVENTS TEAM
As a Large Events Team Member, you will assist in a specific area for one or more Large Events depending on the serving job. HERF Large Events include the HERF Spring Ball, HERF Graduation, and the HERF Used Curriculum Sale. Duties may include: set up, clean up, food preparation, decorations, monitoring events, etc. Some Large Events require work before and/or after the actual event day/time.
